Testimonials - Jim & Joan Sprenkle
We moved into Groves Park Commons in January 2010. Everyone we have dealt with who is affiliated with the Commons (realtors, investors, the builder, and workmen) has been extremely friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. Any problems/issues encountered were resolved expeditiously and to our complete satisfaction.
From a selection of plans provided by the builder, we chose a “carriage” style home called the “Greenbriar.” Although the basic plan met most of our needs, we wanted a few changes, and there was no problem in having the plans modified to meet our specific desires. It is a lovely home (approximately 2400 sq. ft.) with the main living area on the first floor (including the master bedroom and bath), two bedrooms and a bath on the second floor (for visitors), and lots of storage. We have many large windows that overlook a paved “Charleston style” courtyard on one side, and a view out the front of the home of the common park area, wooded hills, and deer roaming the grounds almost every day. Even though Groves Park Commons is located in the City of Oak Ridge, our home is located in a very peaceful and quiet area.

The construction and quality of our home is excellent, and we can’t recommend our builder (Mike Stevens) and his son (Jon) enough. The builder or his son were on-site almost daily ensuring the subcontractors were building our home to Mike’s very high standards. In addition, many of the features included as standard items in a Mike Stevens home would be considered upgrades in most others typical home constructions.
We moved from a home in a rural area, so having shopping and restaurants just minutes away is very convenient. We also appreciate the “green community” focus in the design of the neighborhood and construction of our home; and, we enjoy the energy savings and the attempt to preserve the earth for our children and grandchildren.
